Welcome back to the 2015-2016 school year.
We have several new tech sites we're using this year at my school, so I've been working to learn more about them and incorporate them into the classroom.
Lexia--my school is using Lexia this year for language arts topics both in class and as homework.
GoMath--my district adopted GoMath for our math curriculum. I plan to use the iPad app for daily assignments and activties as well as homework
Seesaw--we have switched from Posthaven to Seesaw to create student eportfolios. The decision was made because Seesaw is really designed for school use, while Posthaven is not, although we were able to make it work, and the developers were very flexible with our needs.
In addition I've been talking with the creator of Edtwist and hope to incorporate that platform in my classroom soon. More about that as we get going.
My students this year are a very energetic group. They are all big-hearted and so caring, but they LOVE to talk. We have spent a lot of time working on listening to directions and listening to others. In addition we've had only 10 iPads for 22 students (temporary situation) so students have had many opportunities for working together and flip-flopping assignments.
With all these developments, my 1st 2 weeks of school remained basically the same as far as content and activities as last year. So, check back to August 2014 and 2013 blog posts for what we've been up to.
In addition to Edtwist I have some new ideas for incorporating Bookopolis more regularly and having Skype problem solving conversations with adults in different careers.
